Dustless Blasting
Aeroblast Abrasive Blasting has been providing the greater Sydney region with dustless blasting services that are second to none since 1998, the goal of our team is always client satisfaction. On-site On time On Budget Every Time!
What is dustless blasting?
Dustless blasting or dustless sandblasting is very similar to regular blasting however an addition of water is present to the stream of abrasive blasting media and compressed air. This results in an almost completely dust free sandblasting environment, suppressing upto 98% of the airborne dust particles present.
Our dustless blasting technology can be used on all non-metal substrates that we would generally utilise our dry blasting system on, with all the same abrasive blast media, with the same finish effects. Wet sandblasting is ideal for use in areas that are of high traffic, busy job sites or simply to keep down the dust on any live project. Dustless blasting is a modern day solution for a time tested service!
Areas/surfaces Aeroblast uses dustless sandblasting technologies at job sites across Sydney on are, but not limited to:
- Concrete walls: Full removal of paint or to expose the aggregate of concrete walls in areas such as parks, reserves, housing estates and industrial sites
- Concrete pavement: Removal of paint or to create a non-slip, exposed aggregate finish to concrete pavements in parks, reserve, shopping centers, industrial buildings
- Retaining walls: Aeroblast can strip retaining walls of old failed paint systems, expose the aggregate and prepare the wall for new coatings to be applied with our top notch wet blasting systems.
- Timber: Our team can utilize dustless blasting to strip all timber surfaces of their paint, stains or mould.
- Brickwork: When removing paint from brickwork across Sydney, should it be required we can introduce water to the abrasive blasting methodology to reduce airborne dust.
- Pools: Dustless blasting can be used when removing paint or marblesheen from old pools in residential suburban areas as a way to control airborne dust particles.
Our dust free sandblasting techniques will have no ill effects to the aforementioned surfaces/substrates and only provides a simple yet highly effective solution to dust control/management and as always our standards comply with Australia OHS and are environmentally friendly.
Aeroblast will only ever use silica FREE abrasive blast media that is inert and eco friendly, we will NEVER use silica sand as this poses a great health risk due to the exposure of silica to operators and surroundings It is a common misconception that sandblasting involves the use of sand, although this may have been true 50 years ago Australia banned the use of silica sand for sandblasting purposes back in 1959.
We hand pick the blast media type and size for every job due to the different requirements present. Most commonly our crew will use crushed glass or crushed garnet as the blast media of choice for on-site blasting projects.
