Exposed Aggregate Finishes

With heavy blasting being the most common and homogeneous we also offer light sandblasting and medium sandblasting finishes.

  • Light Sandblasting: Little to to visible aggregate with a non-slip finish

  • Medium Sandblasting: Inconsistently exposed aggregate with a non-slip finish

  • Heavy Sandblasting: The most visible and consistent aggregate exposure with a non-slip finish

Exposed aggregate sandblasting is a very common finish in many areas such as, but are not limited to:

  • Parks and reserves (pavements and walls)

  • Schools, universities, hospitals and other public areas

  • Wet areas

  • Driveways and Pavements

  • Shopping Centres

  • Industrial buildings and office spaces

  • Pool areas

Surface Preparation and Paint/Contaminants Removal

Our on-site grit blasting specialists not only sandblast concrete to expose the aggregate but also to remove old paint, sealants or other surface contaminants. Sandblasting concrete will not only expose the aggregate and remove coatings.contaminants but it will also be used as a surface preparation method, creating a perfectly sound surface to promote strong adhesion for the new coating system to be applied.

Aeroblast Abrasive Blasting uses only the highest quality of inert blast media, which ensures that no toxic/harsh chemicals are used in the process which means no harm will be inflicted to surrounding areas.

Decorative Graphic Designed Sandblast Finishes

With the use of laser cut or aqua cut mild steel stencils our team is able to sandblast graphically designed patterns, words or numbers into concrete pavements or walls. This is a very common procedure when clients are looking to add a little bit of ‘WOW’ Factor to their project/site.

With the use of graphic technology patterns of which we use can be fully customizable to suit all of your individual needs.
Common Examples of which Aeroblast commonly engages in are, but not limited to:

  • Sandblasting company logo’s into concrete pavements/walls

  • Sandblasting graphics/texts into concrete pavements/walls in parks/reserve or in other public areas such as infront of train stations, schools/universities or museums.

  • Sandblasting graphics/text into pavers or concrete surfaces in industrial areas/new office buildings.

What Is Concrete Sandblasting And Why Is It Used?

Sandblasting concrete is an abrasive blasting technique used to blast concrete away to expose the aggregate beneath it for a rough surface finish. In addition, the procedure is also designed to instantly remove dirt, grime, paint or simply for graffiti removal.

All though the name suggests it, our company will NEVER use sand as a blast media as it poses a great risk of exposing the operator and his or her surroundings to silica dust, as an alternative we use only SILICA FREE blast medias for every project. We hand pick the blast media type and size for every job due to the different requirements present. Most commonly our crew will use crushed glass or crushed garnet as the blast media of choice for on-site concrete sandblasting.
